Scope of Work: Existing one-story and cellar community facility was enlarged horizontally and vertically to create approximately 26,000 square feet of educational and religious community facility, resulting in a new five-story and cellar, 39,000 square feet building with 20 classrooms, a library, multi-purpose room, offices and rooftop play area. Since the existing building was to remain, its elements were upgraded to meet the current code standards and requirements for, but not limited to, fire protection, structural, and mechanical systems. In addition, the new construction complies with new standards of sustainability and energy efficiency. Scope of services included pre-design, schematic design, design development, construction documents and administration; obtained approvals, and permits from city agencies having jurisdiction over the project.
Abundant Life Baptist Church
Scope of Work: An abandoned three-story with cellar, wood and brick structure was converted to a community facility, with a living quarter. The project consisted of a complete gut/rehab of the interior which included new interior concrete footings and slabs on grade in the cellar level, new concrete retaining wall on the side of the building to create an exit passageway, new steel superstructure with limited interior steel columns while maintaining the existing wood floor joists and replacing any deteriorated ones. A new roofing system and steel dunnage was installed for the proposed new rooftop HVAC equipment. New electrical systems, air-conditioning/ventilation systems, as well as a new plumbing and heating systems including new handicapped toilets.
